Frances Marie Kinsch was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents were Charles (Curly) and Elizabeth Kinsch. Frances had four older siblings: Bernice, Charlie, Mable and Helen.
Following high school, Frances Kinsch went on to study a range of subjects in college, while also working. She had many interests and enjoyed working with teenagers.
In December 1942 at the age of 56, Elizabeth Collins Kinsch passed away unexpectedly due to complications following gallbladder surgery. Frances Kinsch was 21 when her mother passed away.
Frances Kinsch married Robert (Bob) Klug, just three months after meeting him at an Arthur Murray Dance Studio in the Chicago area. Frances was a ballroom dance instructor at the studio, and Bob was one of her students.
Unable to have children of their own, Frances and Robert Klug’s prayers were answered with the adoption of a newborn boy in 1955. They adopted another baby boy in 1957, and a baby girl in 1960.
Frances Klug, with the encouragement and support of her husband, opened Fran’s School of Elegance, Fashion and Charm in Brea in 1966. The school motto was, “You model every day of your life.”
